In keeping with the end-of-year and start-of-year top tens, here is my list of the ten people whom I want removed from power and influence in 2007:

5. Mahmoud Abbas

7. Vladimir Putin
8. Bashar Assad
9. Hassan Nasrallah
10. Hugo Chavez

He likes fast cars and fast women, he’s been implicated in murder and terrorism, and he’s got nuclear weapons. But dismissing the North Korean dictator as crazy plays into his hands.
